Public Accounts Committee
(I AM NO LONGER ON THE WORK & PENSIONS SELECT COMMITTEE, BUT I AM KEEPING THIS PAGE HERE FOR THE PURPOSE OF REFERENCE.)
After the 2019 General Election, I was elected to the Public Accounts Committee. We examine the value of money of government projects, programmes and service delivery. Drawing on the work of the National Audit Office, the Committee holds government officials to account for the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of public spending.
Inquiries allow committees to consider oral and written evidence on a particular topic. They usually result in the publication of a report. Recently we have reported on readying the NHS and social care for the Covid-19 peak, the Whole of Government response to Covid-19 and the management of tax reliefs.
