Craig has visited the Summer Kitchen at Drapers Mills school in Margate attended by many in his South Thanet constituency.
The aim of the Summer-long programme, which is headed up by Sharon Goodyer, the creator of Our Kitchen On The Isle Of Thanet in 2017, is to bring people and families together.
Activities such as hula hooping, flower arranging, board games and cookery lessons take place during the afternoon before enjoying meals between 5 and 8pm.
Craig Mackinlay MP commented:
“Sharon Goodyer is a true local force of nature.
“Her formula is simple - that is to get communities together and provide healthy meals made with locally sourced products and to help families learn that good home cooking is simple and need not be expensive.
“I will be working with Sharon over the months ahead to visit families to discuss their domestic finances and circumstances, so as to really understand the constraints they face.”
