Craig Mackinlay MP has hailed Boris Johnson as the best candidate to be Prime Minister and provide an optimistic vision for the future.
The South Thanet MP’s reaffirmation of support comes days after a ComRes survey on behalf of The Sunday Telegraph found that 61 percent of Tory grassroots members favoured Boris, with that growing to 77% of Conservative Councillors.
The general membership of the Conservative Party will elect the leader by postal ballot with the result to be announced on 22nd July.
Craig Mackinlay MP commented:
“Boris Johnson’s experience as Mayor of London showed that he is a dynamic leader, capable of building a strong team around him who keeps his promises.
“We need a leader who will deliver on the 2016 in/out referendum by leaving the EU by 31st October, with or without a negotiated deal.
“A leader who will unite our country and the Conservative Party after the obvious loss of trust in politics following our failure to leave the EU on 29th March 2019 as promised.
“A leader who can beat Jeremy Corbyn to protect our country from a hard-left Labour Party.
“There is only one candidate who can unite our country, deliver Brexit on 31st October, bring back voters from the Brexit Party and defeat Corbyn – so we can move forward with a strong post-Brexit domestic policy agenda.
“That candidate is Boris and he has my fulsome support.”
