Time has certainly flying by, and it is already nearing that favourite time of the year again - Christmas (which of course has nothing to do with receiving lots of presents!). Once again, I was faced with the difficult task of designing my Christmas card to send across the area. After the success of last year, I knew that I had to call on the bright school children of South Thanet to help me in my time of need once again.

As such, I invited all the local primary schools to submit their own designs for my Christmas card. The winner of the competition was to have their design on the front page of my card and the runners up on the back page.

I was again completely overwhelmed by the responses that I received. The children of South Thanet never fail to impress in their talent as artists, and I knew that I had a difficult choice to make in choosing the winner. I am extremely grateful to all of those who sent in their designs to help an MP out of his depth. Without any further delay I am pleased to announce that the winner of my 2017 Christmas card competition is Darcie from Christ Church Junior School! I was impressed by her hand-stitched reindeer:

With so many brilliant designs, I had to pick two runner-ups to for the competition. I particularly liked Rhiannon's penguins (Bromstone), and Natalie's Christmas tree (St Joseph's):
